The journey between Delhi and Jaipur is all set to become quicker and smoother, thanks to the completion of a new four-lane highway under the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project. Spanning 67 km, this newly constructed stretch connects Bandikui to Jaipur and is expected to open to traffic next month, post necessary safety inspections.
Currently, travelers heading to Jaipur from Delhi use either the traditional Jaipur Highway or exit the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at Bandhraj Toll Plaza in Dausa, then join the Jaipur-Agra Highway (NH-44). This detour not only increases the travel distance but also results in a time-consuming and congested commute, often taking over 1.5 hours to cross the stretch due to heavy traffic.
To address this issue and provide a more seamless route, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has developed the new highway segment. Once operational, the new route will reduce the travel distance by approximately 12 km and significantly cut down travel time. Commuters will now be able to reach Jaipur from Delhi in just 3 to 3.25 hours — a notable improvement from the earlier 4-hour journey.
NHAI Regional Officer Pradeep Atri confirmed the benefits of the new link, emphasizing that it aims to reduce congestion and enhance driving convenience. This development is part of the broader plan to optimize regional connectivity under the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project.
With improved infrastructure, reduced travel time, and smoother connectivity, the new expressway is set to be a game-changer for frequent travelers and commercial logistics alike, offering faster access to the Pink City from the national capital.
